Kimberly Schneider is creative. I currently work as the communications editor at a non-profit association. This position allows me to bridge both the graphic design and editorial worlds and utilize a wide range of creative talents. My professional experience covers everything from creating copy to designing the layout that houses that copy. Having worked on several small teams, I've developed a knack for seeing projects through from start to finish. Below are a few areas that I'd like to tell you more about:

Layout & Graphic Design. My experience with layout began when I accepted a position as arts and entertainment editor on my college's newspaper. Section editors were expected to lay out their own sections of the paper and therefore I learned Adobe InDesign quickly and haphazardly. Since that time I've developed a passion for graphic design and I've become an expert in Adobe InDesign. I now practice layout and graphic design everyday for a living and I am constantly reading up on the latest trends in the design community.

Writing & Editing. All my life I've considered myself a writer. I won my first poetry contest at the age of 14 and I've worked at refining my writing and building my portfolio ever since. In college, I focused my studies in English literature but my extracurricular activities revolved around journalism. This means that I can write a well-developed argument on literary theory or a concisely accurate news article. Currently, I work for a non profit association where I get to write, edit and design all kinds of things.

Photography. My creative outlet that's non work-related is photography. I enjoy snapping pictures of everything from friends and family to food to the beautiful city of Chicago. I love dark room photography and the development process in general. One of my favorite parts of photography is post-production editing. I am detail-oriented to the very end.

Food. I love to cook and I love to eat. Cooking is another creative outlet that I enjoy several times a day. I love to create something tangible and necessary, yet elevate it to something that's also memorable. Preparing meals for loved ones and developing recipes to share with friends is one of my favorite hobbies.
